Ron Gilbert, the director of the future Return to Monkey Island, has defended the game’s artwork type from criticism.
Devolver Digital and Lucasfilm Online games announced the sport previous month. It is a sequel to Magic formula of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge.
Given that then, some fans have criticised the game’s art path, which Rex Crowle (Knights and Bikes, Tearaway) is leading. The visuals are not pixelated, as had been those people of the originals. Instead they appear hand-drawn and crisp.
In a weblog article, Gilbert claimed:
“Return to Monkey Island might not be the artwork model you preferred or have been expecting but it’s the art design I wanted.”
Speaking of Crowle’s involvement with venture, he claimed:
“Rex is an wonderful creative pressure and we have a staff of remarkable artists, animators, seem designers, programmers, and testers all pouring their souls into this recreation and it is wonderful to see, perform, and pay attention to.”
In other Monkey Island-linked information, the new activity will not disrupt the series’ timeline. “We’re not declaring any of all those issues didn’t materialize, we really do not discuss down to them at all,” Gilbert said. “We embrace a great deal of the factors we appreciated in these game titles. So we ended up extremely, incredibly very careful about that.”
