Asheville-dependent artist Judit Just of jujujust (formerly) transforms twisted ropes, skeins of cotton, and plush, carpet-like tufts into roving, abstract tapestries. Suspended from skinny wood dowels painted to match their hanging counterparts, the sculptural textiles are likely to swell in amorphous patches and curved traces ahead of falling into thick patches of fringe. Just’s coloration palettes parallel the distinction in textures, with smooth, pastel tones together with shiny, neon-like hues.
