Miss Tic Leads the Women in the Streets : Paris Dispatch 1

Ah, the women of all ages of Paris! Road artists have quite a few interpretations of the woman form, visage, and image. We have been thinking of female road artists in particular for the past number of days mainly because a person of its originators in the modern street art movement, Skip Tic, passed away. Her female figures have been routinely variations of herself, or her increased self – a sharp brain with a philosopher’s perspective, a poet’s heart, and a feminist tongue.

A pioneer in a discipline generally populated by gentlemen, Pass up Tic brought her clean up-lined stencils of bold brunettes to greet passersby like a close friend. Starting in the mid-1980s, she potential customers with poetry and existential texts insightful, entertaining, humorous, and in some cases strident. Wanting at these new illustrations or photos from Norwegian photographer Tor Staale on the streets of Paris, we like to think that Miss Tic opened the doorway to invite all of these women of all ages and women to share in general public place and to have a voice.
